Project categories are an integral part of how the project grids function in our themes. When a category is created and a project is added to it, the category is by default added to project grid filter menu.
To define categories you want to use for your projects, go TM Folio > Categories for example:
Enter the category you want to create under "Name" and simply click Add Category. Repeat this step for each category you want to use for one or several projects, for example:
Once you have created your categories you're ready to create a project and associate it to one or several categories.
Start by going to TM Folio > Add New. Once the page editor opens, look to the right hand side of the editor where you'll see "Categories" right under the "Publish" section. Check the categories this project should be associated to, for example:
Note:The project will be added to the categories once the project is published.
TIP: If you forgot to add a category, you can create one or several on the fly by clicking "+Add New Category" and follow the steps.
There might be times when you are creating project grids as a part of a particular project. If this is the case, you may like to exclude these projects from the main project filter menu and portfolio pagination. This can be done by simply associating a project with the category "Uncategorized" for example:
